Only the paper-based Listening Section is changing.
According to the official IELTS Test Format description from 4 January 2020, some minor changes are being introduced to the instructions and layout.
IELTS Test format changes 2020
- Change #1 — ‘Parts’ instead of ‘Sections’. The paper-based Listening test is now divided into Part 1, 2, 3, 4.
- Change #2 — No more example in Part 1.
- Change #3 — No more page number references.
There are no other changes because the format and questions will remain the same. So, no worries, these changes should not affect candidates.
